New Decade, Healthier Us!

It’s no secret that Bell Tower Academy has an amazing academic program. We pride ourselves on providing a high-quality, 21st-century education to our students and we have the data to back up our success. But what is your child’s future academic and career success worth, if they are not educated on how to sustain overall physical, nutritional and mental health, and taught their role in caring for our planet?  

With that being said, Bell Tower Academy will be kicking off the decade with new, health-conscious goals in mind! Following is a glimpse of some of the programs that will be incorporated into our daily routines, in 2020. 


GOING GREEN:
RECYCLE, RECYCLE, RECYCLE! By the end of 2020, recycling will be second-nature to our students! We will also be teaching them about composting food waste, and in the Spring we will start a compost bucket for Miss Becky’s garden! 


NUTRITION ED:
Thomas Edison once said “The doctor of the future will no longer treat the human frame with drugs, but rather will CURE and PREVENT disease with NUTRITION.” Let’s start teaching this practice to the doctors of our future. 


KID-FIT PROGRAM: 

Weight control, reducing risk of deadly disease, improving mental health and self-esteem, maintaining sharp thinking and learning skills, strengthening bones and muscles… Just a few benefits of a physically active lifestyle. It’s never too soon (or too late) to start your fitness journey! 

FAMILY-STYLE DINING:
Family-style dinging involves sitting at the same table with students, in small groups, and allowing them to serve themselves, while demonstrating proper manners and pleasant conversations. Children who participate in family-style dining are more attuned to their natural hunger and satiety cues, are more likely to try new foods, and are more likely to make healthier choices when seeing these choices modeled for them.
